Founded in 2007, PalavaHut Inc. launched the PalavaHut the Online African Village, a vibrant online magazine and social networking site for people of African descent who were seeking news relating to their heritage.
"A palava hut, a small West African hut made of a thatched roof and waist-high walls, traditionally serves as a town hall where villagers engage in stimulating conversations and disseminate community announcements."
PalavaHut the Online African Village is charged with a similar responsibility, but on a global level, of providing Africans in the diasporas with relevant social and cultural news, not found in mainstream media.
PalavaHut the Online African Village is an independent and unique voice that celebrates the multi-faceted lives of Africans and Africans in the diasporas. The online publication’s in-depth coverage of culture, health, music and other lifestyle issues will pertain to African in the United States, Europe and Canada as well in Africa. The online editions will be a meeting place for expatriates and continent-based Africans, as well as a breeding ground for progressive and provocative discussions.
