The beauties of the Angolan Diasporas came out on Sept 22nd to put to task the pageant judges with the difficult decision of selecting the first Miss Angola USA in 2012.
The Miss Angola USA in 2012 took place at the Warner Theater in Washington DC amid competing events surrounding the Congressional Black Caucus Week. Despite the crowds, the Angolans community and their supporters came out from surrounding areas and other states to witness this ground breaking event. The event was attended by members of the Angola Embassy in the District along with guest of honors and other VIP. The guests were also graced with performances from Maya Cool, Lord C, Toy Pinto and others.
Ten beautiful young women paraded the stage and exhibited their culture, heritage, grace, and poise while wearing traditional, formal and swimwear outfits. After a series of ties and interview questions the winner of the evening and the first 2012 Miss Angola USA was crowned. The new queen, Miss Vaumara Rebelo, resides in Miami Florida and has experience modeling in Miami Fashion Week and with major hair product line.
The event was organized by Kudissanga a not for profit organization serving the people and friends of Angola living in the Diasporas. The event was covered photographed and recorded by PalavaHut – the Online African Village.
