Okyeame Kwame wins big as Artist of the Year, Hip Hop Song of the Year, and Hiplife/Hiphop Artist of the Year at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards.
The Ghana Music Awards celebrated their 10th anniversary April 4.
Christiana Love and Praye both won three awards each. Kojo Antwi won the innaugural Artist of the Decade award and Obour won a World Bank sponsored category dubbed Best Music for Development for his campaign on road safety.Â The late Michael Dwamena won a posthumous award for Best Contemporary Highlife Song of the Year with his hit song, Ngozi.
Among the performers of the night were Cindy Thompson, Pat Thomas, Kwabena Kwabena, Akyeame/Okyeame Kwame, Lord Kenya, Tic Tac, Irene, Asem, Tinny, Josh Laryea, Sway, Dbanj, Ikechuku and others.
